Lean Manufacturing vs WCM

HP
Both philosophies are absolute great ways to reach another level in the Continuous Improvement path but, Why some organizations decided to use one or another? Is it because is easier to implement Lean rather than WCM?, Are the systems so different that represents a different challenge for the teams?.
Clearly stablishing the differences and similarities will help to take the right decision on whether use or change from one or another.
I worked and developed both systems during the last 15 years, Lean Manufacturing, in some ways, is a different version of the so famous Toyota Production System (TPS) but WCM is the same "Step by Step" philosophy at any plant.
Since the emergence of the TPS  in the late 50's , there has been a total revolution from lots of manufacturers in order to emulate the success from Toyota with his TPS, therefore each company started to copy the tools applied there but also adjusting it to their own working environment, so strictly speaking, the tools used such as Kanban, JIT, Level Scheduling, SMED, 5S's, etc. are all the same, it just change the moment that each organization decided to use.

Evaluation Method

Comparisons are always something complex to handle, not everyone is able to understand that every comparison is for good.

I will have four aspects to compare them and highlight the pros and cons at each one: Implementation requirements, Implementation Time, Audit or assessment and Visible Impact in terms of money.
